Are Video Games Hurting Your Bones?

July 23, 2015 04:05 PM

While video games may provide hours of fun for you, your friends, or your kids, they may also be damaging the integrity‚Äč of your bones. Even those played on the phone or a tablet can do so. Recent studies have shown that playing hours and hours of video games can reduce your bone mineral density.

What does this mean?

A lower bone mineral density can put you at risk for osteoporosis. It can also mean that it is easier for you to fracture bones.

What can I do?

Cut back on your video game playing, get your kids playing outside, or find a few other hobbies or interests to enjoy in your free time. Talk to your chiropractor today about what a lowered bone mineral density could mean for you and your spinal health. Call one of our convenient locations today for an appointment!
